What we do

When the time of death comes, loved ones can be set adrift, faced with an ocean of choices. At this time it is sometimes easier to let the currents of conventional ways carry one along, like calling a funeral home and having morticians or funeral home professionals handle all the arrangements for after death care. But later when the tides of emotion become more settled, there may be a wish to have done things differently, more meaningfully. America has a strong tradition of family led funerals conducted in homes or houses of worship. Some people are now reclaiming that heritage.
To that end, the Crossings Care Circle assists families by offering education and resources for arranging their own home and family funerals. The goal is to allow the family to participate as much or as little as they want, making use of some funeral home services if they choose.
